Maria McIntyre is a trailblazer in cannabis microbiology and has exhibited a lifelong enthusiasm for human health and public safety reflected in science, education, and innovation. With a distinctive education in both biology and chemistry, her career led her to research and development roles within food science, pharmaceuticals, regulatory compliance, and microbiology. McIntyre has worked for bioMérieux for more than decade. She currently serves as the Head of Cannabis Safety where she improves product safety and human health in the Cannabis industry. In her role, McIntyre consults with customers and clients to find solutions that mitigate the inherent risk factors that exist throughout the supply chain for both the Cannabis and Hemp industries. A foremost thought-leader in the Cannabis industry working to advance the dialogue surrounding Cannabis safety, McIntyre’s passion for educating others has led her to become an ambassador for consumer health and safety anchored on science.
