Michael Deyholos is a Professor and former Head of the Department of Biology at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan. Since 2002, his lab has worked to develop genetic resources for plants, including Cannabis and flax. Genomic information from these and other sources is being used by the lab to investigate and improve plant defenses and natural products including fibers, phytocannabinoids, omega-3 fatty acids, and lignans. He is a recipient of the Canadian Society of Plant Physiologist’s C.D. Nelson Award. Dr. Deyholos is an author of 115 peer-reviewed manuscripts, including publications in Nature, Plant Cell, Plant Journal, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
